Description

This program will cover the pathophysiology and therapeutic consequence of type 2 diabetes mellitus; pharmacokinetics of currently drugs products used its treatment; counseling for a patient regarding the potential side effects of therapy, and will focus on SGLT2 inhibitors, DPP-4 inhibitors, and GLP-1 agonists

Understand the mechanism of action of medications that are used for the treatment of type 2 diabetes mellitus
Diabetes & ASCVD
Recognize medications currently recommended by the American Diabetes Association for use in patients with established ASCVD
Counseling
Counsel a patient on the appropriate use and side effect/tolerability considerations for medications approved for the treatment of type 2 diabetes mellitus
