This CPE activity is a knowledge-based learning activity targeted to pharmacists.

Objectives

Objectives
At the completion of this activity, the pharmacists and technicians will be able to:
1.List the uses of various over-the-counter (OTC) products of interest in cardiovascular patients.
2. Describe the mechanism of action (MOA) of various food-drug/drug-drug interactions involving cardiovascular medications (statins, antiplatelet therapies, warfarin, red yeast rice).
3. Understand the clinical significance of these interactions in medication therapy.
4. Learn how these recommendations relate with current clinical evidence.
5. Identify possible drug interactions that the pharmacists will need evaluate
