Description

This course will overlook the current prevalence of smoking in the US and the negative health impact of tobacco dependence. Tobacco dependence is seen as a chronic disease, this e-learning will describe the various clinical interventions for smoking cessation in users willing to quit and tobacco control as a smoking deterrent.

Daniel Hilleman, Pharm.D, FCCP

Daniel E. Hilleman was born in St. Louis, MO. He attended Loyola University in New Orleans majoring in chemistry. Dr. Hilleman graduated from Creighton University with a Doctor of Pharmacy degree. He completed a pre-doctoral fellowship in toxicology at the Poison Control Center in Omaha, NE. Dr. Hilleman joined the faculty at the Creighton University School of Pharmacy and Health Professions in 1981. He served as Administrative Director of Clinical Research at the Creighton Cardiac Center from 1985-1992. He then served as Chair, Department of Pharmacy Practice at Creighton from 1993-2003. In 2003-2004, Dr. Hilleman completed a fellowship/sabbatical in information technology and distance education. Dr. Hilleman was promoted to a Professor of Pharmacy Practice and Medicine in 1994. Dr. Hilleman has served as the primary preceptor of the Creighton Cardiac Center pharmacy research fellowship since 1983. Dr. Hilleman currently practices at the Creighton University Medical Center where he specializes in cardiovascular and critical care medicine.
