Description

During this e-learning the participant will learn how to identify currently available inhalation therapy for asthma and COPD. Looking into detail at the current types of inhalation devices available to patients today and the specific instructions for optimal use of each product. This e-learning will also provide a list of antibiotic therapies that can be given via inhalation, giving key examples of different treatments for contrasting symtoms.

Mark Malesker is a Professor of Pharmacy Practice and Professor of Medicine at Creighton University in Omaha, Nebraska. Dr. Malesker received his Bachelor of Science and Doctor of Pharmacy degrees from Creighton University. He then completed a cardiovascular research fellowship at the Creighton Cardiac Center. Dr. Malesker’s teaching focus includes critical care, anticoagulation, cardiopulmonary topics, and the formulary system. Dr. Malesker is a Fellow of the American College of Chest Physicians and a Board Certified Pharmacotherapy Specialist. He serves as Clinical Pharmacy Specialist with the Pulmonary Medicine/Critical Care Service at Creighton University Medical Center.

Dr. Malesker is a member of the American College of Chest Physicians, the American College of Clinical Pharmacy, the American Association of Colleges of Pharmacy, the American Society of Health-Systems Pharmacists, the Nebraska Pharmacists Association and others. He has given many presentations at the national, regional and local level to physician, nurse, and pharmacist audiences.

Dr. Malesker has published dozens of articles on critical care and cardiology topics in a variety of journals, including Chest, Pharmacotherapy, the Journal of Emergency Medicine, the Annals of Pharmacotherapy to name a few. He has authored several book chapters including recent chapters in Pharmacotherapy Principles and Practice, 2nd Edition and Drug Information: A Guide for Pharmacists, 4th edition. Dr. Malesker has also been involved in numerous research projects and clinical trials.
