Description

This presentation focuses on complying with laws and regulations for medical billing and coding purposes. As pharmacy professionals begin billing for medical services, they will need to comply with new regulatory requirements and statutes. In addition, pharmacy professionals will need to understand the role of regulatory agencies and develop practices to mitigate audits or investigations.

In order to receive credit, you must get a score of at least 70% correct responses. If you do not achieve 70% or better, you will be allowed to take 3 retakes. If you pass with a 70%, you will receive a certificate and the CE will be uploaded to the CPE Monitor within a few days. You will need to make sure that your NABP e-Profile ID# and Date of birth are entered into your profile under the CPE Monitor Integration Details. If this information is not entered your CE can not be uploaded.

Rachel is a health care attorney with Hall Render Killian health & Lyman PC. Racheal represents clients on a broad array of compliance and regulatory matters, including government investigations and whistleblower actions, defense of Medicare fraud and abuse accusations medical necessity, Anti-Kickback and Stark Law compliance, and false claims. She also conducts compliance reviews and Racheal has represented hospitals and health systems in strategic transactions, such as hospital mergers, and acquisitions, joint ventures and physician contracting matters, including co-management arrangements, physician recruitment, employment and medical director agreements, and hospital-based physician agreements. Rachael holds a Ph.D. in Biological Sciences from Stanford University and a J.D. from Case Western Reserve University School of Law.
