Objectives

After completing the program, Specialty Pharmacists, Pharmacists, Clinical Pharmacists, Specialty Pharmacy executives, Pharmacy Directors, Chief Pharmacy Officers, Nurses, and Infusion Nurses along with other healthcare practitioner participants will be able to:
1. Discuss important content to include in patient education for each of the most common classes of oral chemotherapy medications such as adverse effects, drug interactions, and the importance of medication adherence
2. Describe how to monitor for and manage common toxicities, including recommending dose adjustments and supportive care medications
3. Describe key points to consider in the safe handling of oral chemotherapy
4. Discuss how to monitor waste management
5. Describe key points to consider in the safe labeling of oral chemotherapy
6. Identify and describe quality of life issues – psychosocial aspects, patient involvement, psychological interventions, improving outcomes, palliative and end of life care
