Description

A comprehensive home-study course on Stop Losing Sleep.

Objectives

After completing this course, the clinician will be able to:
1. Outline the classification and diagnosis of sleep disorders, including various insomnias and circadian rhythm anomalies, restless legs syndrome (RLS), and periodic limb movement disorder (PLMD).
2. Identify other conditions that may contribute to sleep disorders, including neurological, endocrine, and psychological disorders.
3. Describe the approaches to management of sleep disorders, both pharmacologic and non-pharma- cologic (e.g., dietary, hygienic, and psychosocial).

Katz (M.D., Ph.D.), a full-time physician- lecturer for INR, is one of this country’s leading health educators, who combines a strict scientific approach with an openminded and optimistic perspective. A graduate of the elite Piroghoff Medical School, Dr. Katz practiced as a board-certified physician in Europe, where he learned a unique understanding of various ways of management of common neurological and psychological conditions. Dr. Katz is the author of more than 30 peer-reviewed publications, including numerous monographs on neurologic, psychosocial, and psychiatric conditions. He has completed fellowships in neuropathology, mathematical modeling of brain function (artificial intelligence), and the role of free radicals in health and disease.
