Dr. Annell St. Charles and Mary O’Brien, M.D.
on behalf of Institute for Natural Resources

Dr. Annell St. Charles received her bachelor’s degree in Behavioral Psychology from Vanderbilt University. She holds a M.S. in Public Health Nutrition, and a Ph.D. in Nutrition Science with a minor in Applied Behavioral Analysis and Exercise Physiology. Her clinical practice, which spans more than 25 years, has focused on the behavioral and psychological contributors to preventive health care. She is a nationally recognized speaker and has published over a dozen home-study
course books for health professionals. She is also a guest lecturer for the Hilton Head Health Institute. Mary O’Brien, M.D., is a full-time INR instructor, physician educator, and course writer. She is a board-certified physician in geriatrics and internal medicine and has served on the medical school faculties of Georgetown University and the University of North Carolina. She is also a board-certified Physician Nutrition Specialist. Dr. O’Brien has served on the editorial boards of several medical journals and has published extensively in professional journals. On the subjects of pain management, pharmacology, geriatrics, and nutrition, she frequently lectures to health professionals. Dr. O’Brien has served as a reviewer for the Bureau of Health Professionals at the Department of Health and Human Services.
