Description

Washington State is taking the national lead in being the first state to require reimbursement by medical insurance carriers of pharmacists for their care provided to patients. The legislation that required this was numbered ESSB 5557, and was ushered through the legislative process in the spring of 2015. The legislation required the formation of a Collaborative Workgroup for guidance. The Workgroup’s deliverables have now been released, and Jeff Rochon will discuss this. Also, much of the details for implementation still need to be delineated for the profession, and WSPA is forming 4 workgroups to develop this detailed information and tools. WSPA CEO Jeff Rochon will review these updates and next steps on this informational lecture.
