Dr Allen Schoen DVM, MS

Dr Schoen is one of the pioneers in veterinary acupuncture, integrative veterinary medicine and mind body medicine. He is the editor of Veterinary Acupuncture, Ancient Art to Modern Medicine (Mosby 2001), co-editor of Complementary and Alternative Veterinary Medicine, Principles and Practice (Mosby, 1998) as well as other books. He established the first Department of Veterinary Acupuncture outside of Asia in 1982 at the prestigious Animal Medical Center in New York City. He has been an Assistant Professor at Colorado State University College of Veterinary Medicine and at Tufts University School of Veterinary Medicine. He has lectured at conferences and veterinary schools throughout the world. He has maintained a multi veterinarian practice focused on Acupuncture and Complementary Medicine since 1982. He has received numerous grants and awards for his work in pioneering integrative veterinary medicine including an honorary PhD for his contributions to veterinary medicine.
