Description

This course will discuss techniques to create morphologically precise direct anterior and posterior composite restorations. A simple layering technique will be taught with the use of composite tints to create lifelike restorations. An emphasis will be placed on proper anatomic contour. The use of different aesthetic materials in combination with finishing techniques will enable placement of state of the art restorations for your patients tomorrow!

Objectives

Objectives
Learn proper anatomic contour of anteriors and posteriors and how to achieve it using the most advanced directly placed dental materials available. Learn anatomic placement, adhesion techniques, contour, finishing, and polishing for anterior and posterior direct composite restorations. Learn the benefits of glass ionomer cement as a dentin replacement in deeply excavated lesions. Learn techniques to create proper interproximal contours for Class II direct composites utilizing sectional matrix systems. Learn techniques to help prevent post operative sensitivity when placing direct composite restorations.

Robert Lowe, DDS, FAGD

Dr. Robert A. Lowe graduated magna cum laude from Loyola University School of Dentistry in 1982 and was a Clinical Professor in Restorative Dentistry until its closure in 1993. Since January of 2000, Dr. Lowe has maintained a private practice in Charlotte, North Carolina. He lectures internationally and publishes in well-known dental journals on esthetic and restorative dentistry. Dr. Lowe received fellowships in the AGD, ICD, ADI, ACD, received the 2004 Gordon Christensen Outstanding Lecturers Award, and in 2005, Diplomat status on the American Board of Esthetic Dentistry.
