Description

The endodontic treatment in today’s daily practice is very successful. Endodontic treatment may be even as reliable as implant-based restorations. To improve the survival of endodontically treated teeth, i.e. increase load capability, adhesive post-and-core reconstructions for postendodontic restoration become more and more popular. There is good evidence that adhesive cementation of (glass fibre) posts combined with a ferrule preparation is very successful clinically. Aspects as being metal-free, easy to remove, aesthetic appearance, being an one-stage procedure without the need of provisional restoration and easy abutment preparation after endodontic post placement are obvious advantages. However, adhesive post placement as such may be more technique sensitive than conventional protocols.

Objectives

Objectives
Upon completion of this CE webinar, the student will be able to: identify situations when an endodontic post is indicated; understand which post type to choose and which materials to prefer for cementation and core build-up; understand when a postendodontic restoration may be indicated or treatment alternatives are to prefer.
