Newman, DDS, is adjunct professor of periodontics at the UCLA School of Dentistry. An active scholar and lecturer, he has published more than 250 journal articles and abstracts, coedited four textbooks, and delivered lectures on a wide variety of topics throughout the world. A diplomate of the American Board of Periodontology and past president of the American Academy of Periodontology, Dr. Newman is also an active member of the NIDCR and the ADA. A longstanding associate editor for the International Journal of Oral & Maxillofacial Implants, he was recently named editor of a new journal, Evidence-Based Dental Practice. Dr. Newman has a stong interest in applied science and the transfer of new technology for practical use.
