Carin Brent

With a passion for improving professional care, Carin believes in teamwork.She studied Oral Hygiene at the University of Stellenbosch (US) and completed her Expanded Functions Courses at the University of the Western Cape (UWC). In a professional career that spans over thirty years, she has worked both locally and internationally with orthodontists, periodontists and in practices that focus on preventative, family and aesthetic dentistry.As the secretary of the local branch of the South African Dental Association (SADA), she organised various CPD events and congresses. In 2011 she joined forces with a colleague to start Synapse. Their aim is to make professional development accessible to everyone.
Carin has served on the Board of Directors of The Arts Theatre Society of East London and is currently on the Professional Board for Dental Therapy, Oral Hygiene and Dental Assistants of the HPCSA.
She lives and works as an oral hygienist in East London, South Africa. In her spare time she is a potter, planter, painter, gardener, godmother, decorator and dog walker.
