During this lecture the importance of brain and spine health are discussed; the chain of events and biochemical reactions that lead to the emotional and physical experience of stress, and the art of finding the balance and neural polarity in the human machine. The goal is to create more joy and contentment in both professional and personal interactions.

Statistics of some of the most common musculoskeletal disorders are presented and reviewed. The students will learn how to use current ergonomic techniques to prevent work related injuries.
This is a power point presentation that evolves into a demonstration and student participation in diaphragmatic breathing and a simple sequence of seated yoga postures.

• Learn the most effective ergonomic techniques to increase the longevity and safety of your own dental practice.

• Increase office productivity through stress reduction, and create more cohesive team relationships.

• Learn a simple approach to implement evidence-based techniques at work and at home.  Easily reducing the risks of physical damage from poor posture, back and neck fatigue.

Ms Donna Yanus

Donna Yanus received her dental hygiene degree at Luzerne County Community College and continued her dental education at Penn Dental School in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
For the past 12 years, she has been lecturing on various dental topics.
Donna has also lectured for the Oral Cancer Foundation, and CASA a Florida based domestic violence center.

In 2008 she received her certification as a 500hr registered yoga teacher, She continues on a quest to create healthy caregivers. .
Donna combines her clinical knowledge and yoga experience, to educate fellow dental professionals in creating a safe and healthy work environment.
