This course is intended to educate veterinary health care staff in the general knowledge and skills necessary for a complete physical examination of a canine and feline patient during a routine wellness check-up, pre-anesthetic evaluation, or diagnostic appointment.
Both species will have 4 videos, beginning with an introduction into the physical exam with emphasis on the importance of consistent and systematic approach, as well as documenting all findings. Next, patient signalment, history, and subjective observations are described and outlined as essential components of the process of compiling a patient profile. Thirdly, instruction on properly taking and recording vital signs is reviewed including TPR, MM and CRT, and blood pressure measurements.
