Description

Recent studies have shown that high blood pressure is far more common than previously thought. We will demystify the diagnosis and management of this problem, which can be handled in a straightforward manner. This session will focus on issues related to blood pressure measurement, treatment of hypertension, and successful management of comorbid conditions, such as kidney disease and hyperthyroidism, using case examples.

Scott Brown, DVM
on behalf of Purdue University College of Veterinary Medicine

Dr. Brown received his veterinary degree from the University of Pennsylvania in 1982. He subsequently completed an internship and residency in Small Animal Internal Medicine at the Teaching Hospital of the University of Georgia and is Board Certified in Internal Medicine by ACVIM. He received a PhD in Renal Pathophysiology from the University of Georgia in 1989 and completed a post-doctoral research fellowship at the Nephrology Research and Training Center of the University of Alabama-at-Birmingham School of Medicine.
