Description

This course will explore ocular surface disease indications for scleral lens use. Scleral lenses have become a go-to management modality in exposure and cicatricial degenerations. Case reports will be used to illustrate scleral lens use in neurotrophic and Graft Vs Host Disease states.

This course is NOT COPE accredited however, one hour of COPE-approved continuing education credit is available for the webinar. To register for CE credit, please fill out the printable form, and mail or fax to the GP Lens Institute with your payment. Then you will receive the CE test. The cost is $25 per webinar, of which $5 will be donated to Optometry Giving Sight

Michael A. Ward, MMSc, FAAO, FCLSA

Mr. Ward achieved his Bachelor of Science degree in Microbiology from the University of Washington with an undergraduate thesis in ocular microbiology. He earned his Master of Medical Science degree from Emory University. He conducted ophthalmic research at the University of Washington and the University of Chicago prior to joining the Emory University School of Medicine faculty. He is a Certified Ophthalmic Medical Technologist, a Licensed Dispensing Optician, an Honored Fellow of the Contact Lens Society of America, a Fellow of the Cornea, Contact Lens and Refractive Technologies section of the American Academy of Optometry, and member of the Contact Lens and Cornea Section of the American Optometric Association.

Mr. Ward was named Practitioner of the Year, 2014 by the GPLI/Contact Lens Manufacturer's Association. He is a consultant to industry, a frequent national and international speaker, and an author of many publications. Areas of interest include ocular microbiology, contact lens care, irregular astigmatism/keratoconus and scleral lens design.
