Please join the ACBA Family Law, Business, and Barristers Sections for an inside look at the best business practices for family law practices. Erin will discuss how to help you and your team be more productive managing cases, hiring employees, and running and growing a successful business. Brian will discuss selection and formation of an appropriate business entity, development and implementation of effective risk management strategies and techniques, business best practices, pitfalls and tips, as well as important considerations for winding down or selling a law practice.
This MCLE will provide a wealth of information for newer attorneys and seasoned lawyers alike.

Erin Levine is a Certified Family Law Specialist who has practiced in the East Bay since 2005.  Erin’s approach to law office management includes the balancing of a traditional, client centered, professional office with a modern, technology driven, team­based environment. As much as she likes practicing law, she finds even more fulfillment running the business along side her thought partner and friend, Ashley Schuh, CFLS. Erin revisits her personal and professional goals often, in an effort to produce high quality legal services, attract desired clientele, keep employees happy and maximize profit.

Since 1983, Brian Ripley has counseled and represented business owners in a broad variety of legal issues and matters, including business formation, corporate compliance and governance, buy­sell agreements, business policies and procedures, business­real estate issues, succession planning and “exit” strategies, and much more.  Brian is a passionate world traveler, and gives freely of his time and financial support to non­profit organizations that provide access to the creative and performing arts to underserved youth.  He is honored to have created deep and lasting relationships with his clients, and is gratified by their recognition of his important contribution to their enduring growth and success.
