Description

Please join the ACBA Business Section for an exploration of nonprofit organizations that are innovating beyond the bounds of typical charities and community groups. Attorneys Cameron Holland and Janelle Orsi will cover the different types of California nonprofit corporations and provide an overview of the scope and limits of the most common tax exemptions available, including Sections 501(c)(3), (c)(4) (c)(6), and more. Using case studies, the presenters will discuss unique questions that emerge when nonprofits start social enterprises, farmers markets, car sharing programs, and legal consulting services.

Cameron serves her nonprofit clients in a variety of matters including exemption applications, developing hybrid structures, nonprofit splits and dissolutions, counsel on lobbying and political activity and ongoing transactional matters.
