Contact Lens Modification This presentation is designed to give you a better understanding of contact lens modifications. The in-office modifications discussed will include reducing the overall diameter, reducing the optical zone diameter, flattening the peripheral curves, blending the peripheral curves, polishing the edges, anterior and posterior surfaces, and modifying the lens power.

Objectives
Upon completion of the course the participant should be able to: demonstrate the proper procedures for in-office modifications of RGP lenses; identify the equipment needed for performing the modification procedures; describe some of the techniques for verifying that the modifications have been performed accurately; outline which procedures are best left to the lens manufacturer for modification; identify what unwanted changes are most likely to occur during lens modifications and what steps can be performed to reduce the likelihood of such an occurrence.
