Description

This course is a day in the life of real-world dentistry -- beginning with tips on anesthesia and ending with a technique for final crown delivery. A unique clinical protocol will be shown focusing on impression taking, fabrication of a temporary, crown prep technique and tips on laboratory basic procedures for quadrant, closed-bite trays. It will be evident how time and material costs will be saved. Patient comfort and excellent clinical results are also a focus.

Objectives

Objectives
Understand how warming of local anesthetic and extremely slow delivery can dramatically reduce patient sensitivity. Appreciate how a unique, closed bite tray with a thermoplastic bite wafer can create a closed-bite custom tray with a guide to centric that will be rigid and minimize gag for the patient. See the benefits of a new method to make a pre-op impression for the temporary that is fast, easy, patient-friendly and cost effective. Comprehend the need to use a disinfecting agent before core bonding and final cementation to eliminate bacteria, prevent sensitivity, increase short and long-term bonds and lower microleakage. Be able to employ a simple impression correction technique that saves time and money and delivers excellent detail. Realize the benefits of a total full shoulder technique in crown preparation -- both for die trimming and structural full ceramic crown construction. Appreciate the need for a laboratory that knows how to work with closed-bite quadrant impressions and uses CAD Cam technology for accuracy.
