Description

Without accurate diagnosis the subsequent steps in endodontics are doomed to failure. Even the most skillful treatment is useless if performed on the wrong tooth. Dr. Natanya Padachey, a board certified endodontist, discusses navigating the sometimes difficult waters of diagnosis and treatment planning. This program will delve into the science and technology involved. Dr. Padachey will also suggest a basic framework for a good endodontic diagnostic process.

Objectives
After this course the participant will be able to: Identify and discuss the key principals of the SOAP process as it applies to endodontic diagnosis. Identify and discuss the different phases of the objective portion of the clinical examination. Discuss the different pulpal and periapical assessment possibilities related to an endodontic diagnosis.

Natanya Padachey, BSc, DDS, Dipl. Endo, FCDS(BC), FRCD(C) maintains a full time private practice in Victoria, BC and is a fellow of the College of Dental Surgeons of British Columbia. She completed her dental degree and postgraduate degree in endodontics at the University of Toronto. She is founder of the Vancouver Island Endodontic Study Group and has lectured both nationally and internationally in endodontics. She is also a past clinical assistant professor at the University of British Columbia, and past visiting lecturer in postgraduate endodontics at the University of Toronto.
