Descriptions of strength (load-deformation, stress-strain, true stress-true strain diagrams) and key components of diagram (elastic limit, modulus, breaking strength).Behavioral Objectives:On a written examination, a student should be able to:Demonstrate the application of normalization techniques to create any of the three energy diagram types.Define and/or identify on a stress-strain diagram the elastic region, plastic region, the elastic limit, proportional limit, yield strength, ultimate strength, elastic modulus (Young's Modulus), the axes involved, and the units of measurement.Discuss mechanical deformation modes at the atomic level.Define and explain the term hardness.
