Sleep Case Bryan
This is an excellent case of a male patient age 51 with large (18”) neck, extreme daytime sleepiness (Epworth Sleepiness Scale 14), loud snoring and severe sleep apnea being treated successfully with Somnodent oral appliance. This case also demonstrates the proper technique for taking a bite registration for an oral appliance.

Objectives

On completion of this unit the clinician will understand:
Course participants will see what records must be taken for treating patients who snore and who have obstructive sleep apnea. Complete records including Epworth Sleepiness Scale, TMJ Health Questionnaire, Range of Motion, Panorex x-ray, Hospital Sleep Study (polysomnogram), Home Sleep Study, etc. This case also demonstrates the proper technique for taking a bite registration for an oral appliance using Airway Metrics, a series of different bite gigs.
