Description

This course reviews custom soft lens designs and their application for patients with a variety of irregular corneal conditions such as keratoconus, post-graft, post-refractive surgery, and high irregular astigmatism. This course will focus on lens design and how to select lenses based on a patient's corneal profile. A review of dynamic lens assessments and MoRoCCo VA fitting app will also be discussed. Management of these conditions through clinical cases will be presented.
*This course has an accompanying exam to verify completion; it cannot be counted as CEE or "TQ".

Objectives

Understand lens design and its application for the irregular cornea.
We will review the lens design and parameters available. How to identify corneal shape and the initial lens selection will be discussed.
Review the dynamic lens assessment for custom soft lenses.
A discussion on the evaluation of the diagnostic fit using the diagnostic assessment form will be reviewed.
Review the MoRoCCo VA fitting application for the Kerasoft® lens design.
For a successful fit, the lens should provide appropriate movement, minimal rotation, adequate centration, comfort to the patient and stable vision.
Review clinical cases with custom lens designs.
Basic cases and advanced cases with troubleshooting tips will be discussed.
