Description

This lesson provides a review of the care of infants--from birth to twelve months of age. Includes information about how to keep a baby warm, dry and comfortable--with extra emphasis on infant safety.

Objectives

On completion of this course, the learner will be able to:
1. List at least two ways you can help with both breast and bottle feeding.

2. Describe the safest position for a sleeping baby.

3. Describe at least 3 ways to “play” with a baby and tell why play is so important.

4. Demonstrate changing a diaper, dressing and caring for a baby’s sensitive skin.

5. Recognize and respond appropriately to common childhood illnesses, including reflux, fever, thrush and ear infections.
