Description

This integrative counseling program offers specific guidelines to create strategies for training yourself and others to build personalized inner-directed Self-care plans using the Spiritually Directed Protocol®.

This course is relevant to direct client care for clinical counselors, marriage and family therapy, educational psychology, clinical social work, body-oriented therapists, pastoral counselors and clergy, mindfulness educators, social-change enthusiasts and all those interested in helping themselves and others to extend healing during times of trauma, crisis and or accelerated change, as we transition into a global society.

Objectives

Upon completion of this course, the student should be able to:
Objective 1:
Discuss 'leading by example’ using a Self-care first ’ grass-roots approaches to healing to foster embodied awareness, PTG and the creative reconstruction of our communities
Objective 2:
Identify Western, Eastern and Amerindian indigenous approaches to self-care to establish greater balance physically, emotionally, mentally and spiritually within oneself, with others, the environment and ecosphere
Objective 3:
Create strategies for training yourself and others to build personalized spiritually directed Self-care plans using the Spiritually Directed Protocol®

Beth Hedva, Ph.D., former faculty in the Department of Clinical Psychology, Antioch University, and Adjunct Research Faculty in Sofia University's Global Program, is currently the Director of Counseling and Training at the Canadian Institute for Transpersonal and Integrative Sciences (CITIS). Nominated for inclusion in the 1st edition of the Marquis Who’s Who in Medicine & Health Care, and past member of the Board of Directors of the International Council of Psychologists, Hedva's evidence based Spiritually Directed Therapy Protocol for Recovery from Trauma® brought her invitations to present her work at the United Nation, and you will find her in the American Biographic Institute’s 2009 Hall of Fame for “Humanitarian Contributions in Cross-Cultural Psychology”.
