Description

As educators we are always looking for ways to expand our students’ learning. Why stay inside the classroom? Are you only allowed one field trip a year? With the expansion of online resources, there are so many ways to allow our students and classrooms the ability to connect with others. Participants during this session will learn ways to connect their classrooms with other classrooms (or authors/professionals/movie stars), discuss ways to “travel” outside the classroom, and walk away with resources to continue to stay connected. The possibilities are endless.

Objectives

I did receive quite a few good ideas and ow to connect. However, it would have been beneficial to see some of the connections in progress.

Great ideas on how to incorporate technology into the classroom!

In the beginning, the resources conveyed were helpful - especially the Discovery Education Network. In addition, I'm new to Google and using Google Hangouts is also something I would like to integrate into my classes. However, the ending of the course during the question and answer period when the screen was stagnant was not as productive or helpful to me personally.
Mrs Courtney Davis (19 Dec 2016)
I love the virtual field trip idea from Discovery. My school is kind of strict about certain things, and as of now, I would not be able to do any Skype sessions with other schools. Maybe that is something I could research and present for future permission.
Mrs Michelle Atkeisson (13 May 2017)
Thanks!
