Description

Introduction: Consumers are beginning to use the Internet and social media as a primary source of eyecare and eyewear information. The data proves that use of the Internet and social media is rapidly growing and every ECP needs to decide how they are going to get involved. The alternative is to do nothing and lose patients. Having a comprehensive social media/Internet strategy will not only protect market share, but allow ECPs to attract new patients, reduce current purchase cycles and give them the tools necessary to stay engaged with patients so they are less likely to stray away to other eyecare companies. This session will provide a four step method for ECPs to learn how to develop an Internet/social media strategy and better understand how to use web properties (i.e. Facebook, website) to grow their practice.

Objectives

Objectives
Upon completion of this course the participant should be able to: have a better understanding of the value and importance of having an online presence; understand the process of developing an Internet and social media strategy for an ECP's practice; know what Internet and social media tools (i.e. Facebook, website, etc.) are available and have an overview of how to use them; better understand how to use the Internet and social media to stay engaged with patients (and potential patients) between eye exams and eyeglass purchases.
