Description

Introduction Dispensing To Your Hispanic Patients is a course geared toward dispensers, offering practical advice on how to successfully communicate with Hispanic patients – with and without a potential language barrier. Each day, eyecare professionals confront many obstacles while working with their Hispanic patients. Ethnic backgrounds, language barriers, cultural differences and varied shopping habits can all impact effective communication between Hispanic patients and their eyecare professional. By recognizing these obstacles, eyecare professionals can take steps to overcome them and better serve this community. Hispanics represent the fastest-growing demographic group in the U.S. They also have a higher incidence of certain types of vision problems and are less aware of the need to protect their eyes from UV than other demographics. This has made it particularly important for eyecare professionals and the entire optical industry to understand and better meet the visual needs of Hispanics. Transitions Optical, Inc. recognizes that it is not easy to overcome these challenges alone. Whether eyecare professionals would like to increase their Hispanic patient base or improve relationships with the Hispanic patients they already have, Transitions can help. Transitions is working to offer eyecare professionals with a better understanding of the unique eye health and communication needs of Hispanics, while providing the most effective tools and techniques for addressing these needs.
