Description

Introduction: Proper edge selection and lens finishing can really make or break the final product of any spectacle order. Knowing your options is only half the battle. This course will also explore the proper meanings of commonly misinterpreted terminology as well as when and how to order a variety of beveled and grooved lenses. Whether you are a dispensing optician or a lab technician, the knowledge of how and why we use different lens beveling and grooves can greatly improve the aesthetics and longevity of your finished products.

Upon completion of the course, the participant should be able to: understand and identify different bevel types and finishing techniques; learn how to problem-solve for poorly fitting lenses; gain better understanding of how to communicate effectively with your optical lab.

Throughout nearly 15 years in the optical industry, Jesse been a dispensing optician in boutique and medical settings, she has been a manager in large corporate laboratories as well as in-office finishing labs. Jesse has earned her master certificate in ophthalmic optics through the American Board of Opticianry. But most importantly, she continues to have a passion for optics and keeps her finger on the pulse of what’s new in the industry. She is an independent educator.
