Description

Introduction: One of the most notable advancements in lens technology today is the frequent use of prescription compensation. An educated optician is likely to be skilled in taking the additional measurements that the lab asks for and perhaps even has a concise selling strategy. However, I aim to dig a little deeper and arm the optical professional with the knowledge of how a prescription lens changes in relation to its position of wear and how this strategic deviation from the doctor’s written Rx makes sense after all.

Objectives

Objectives
Upon completion of the course, the participant should be able to: understand the need for lens compensation; be familiar with the basic calculations that determine how a prescription changes according different position of wear measurements; have a practical comprehension of lens processing, digital design, verification, and troubleshooting compensated prescriptions.
