Description

The course 2 details the procedure to be applied for a complete and precise binocular vision/orthoptic evaluation. The course describes all the procedures in a much simpler manner to be followed in the clinic.

1. To effectively learn the concept of binocular vision and how the two eyes work together
2. To be able to effectively and precisely examine a patient with binocular vision dysfunction and ocular deviation
3. To become a competent optometrist in the area of binocular vision to be able to treat the patients with the best treatment modality available including prisms, glasses, and vision therapy

Neeraj K. Singh, BSc(Hons.)Optom, MPhil

Neeraj completed his Bachelor of Optometry from Dr. Shroff’s Charity Eye Hospital affiliated to Indira Gandhi National Open University, New Delhi in 2011 with distinction where he was awarded the best intern of the batch and the best outgoing student of the University. After practicing for 2 years, he completed his MPhil in Optometry from Elite School of Optometry (BITS, Pilani). His area of research was Binocular Vision and Vision Therapy. Alongside he also worked as a graduate researcher at the Binocular Vision Clinic and Pediatric Ophthalmology Department of Sankara Nethralaya Hospital, Chennai, rated as one of the best tertiary eye care hospitals in India. Neeraj has presented his works in several conferences and seminars and bagged several awards for his research works. Recently, he was awarded the 'Young Investigator Award' from Association for Social Health in India (Govt. of NCT of Delhi).
Neeraj is the recipient of the prestigious fellowship grant award from the World Council of Optometry/ World Optometry Foundation for his research on “Vision and Driving difficulties with Nystagmus: Finding New Pathways”. His research interest include Binocular Vision; Vision Therapy, Vision and driving, Vision and fall, Vision rehabilitation and Visual Psychophysics. He also serves on the review board of peer reviewed journal Optometry & Visual Performance, Jointly published by Australasian College of Behavioral Optometry and Optometry Extension Program Foundation. He is currently a research scholar at Harvard Medical School, department of Ophthalmology, Boston, MA.
