Description

This presentation introduces the delegate to the origins of homeopathy, its basic core principles and how it differs in the understanding of health and disease.

Objectives

Knowledge of the historical origins of homeopathy
The student will gain an understanding of the origins of homeopathy including the original Cinchona Experiment and the core text of homeopathy, The Organon of the Medical Art.
Knowledge if the principle of 'similar cures similar'
The student will learn the basic principle of homeopathy and the ethos behind this medical modality.
Knowledge of the principle of potentisation
The student will gain basic understanding regarding the issues of dilution, succussion and potentisation.
Basic understanding of the practice of homeopathy
The student will gain a basic understanding of how homeopathy is used in practice and will be given examples of acute homeopathic remedies in common use and some of their applications in clinical practice.

The British Academy of Veterinary Homeopathy was established in 2013 to provide training in the theory and use of homeopathy by veterinary surgeons and veterinary nurses within the context of veterinary practice. (Please note that the extent to which veterinary nurses can use the therapy is governed by the guidelines of the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons in respect of their general areas of competence).
