Description

Cholangiocarcinoma, a devastating cancer arising from biliary epithelia [1], is a slow-growing malignancy, representing the second most common primary tumor of the liver, after primary hepatocellular carcinoma [2]. Cholangiocarcinoma is a rare tumour (approximately 3% of all digestive cancers), is known to be very aggressive and often discovered in an advanced stage with manifestations of clinical signs and symptoms (e.g. obstructive jaundice, weight loss) [3].
