Dr. Petizmeier is currently practicing as an equine veterinarian and surgeon. Part of her internship and residency has been at Peterson & Smith Equine Hospital, a renowned teaching hospital.

While hauling horses for extra money during undergraduate and vet school at Auburn, she became familiar with Peterson and Smith and decided that is where she wanted to be when she finished her training and joined the practice in 1991. She is Board certified in Large Animal Surgery and enjoys surgeries of all varieties.
