Description

This 30 minute online vet nurse CPD covers hypovolaemia and dehydration, which are the two main indications for parenteral fluid therapy. However, they are not the same thing – they are assessed using different parameters and treated differently. Hypovolaemia is the most common cause of shock in small animals and can be life-threatening. This webcast explains the differences between hypovolaemia and dehydration and also mentions some of the other types of shock.  After watching this webcast, why not find out more about the treatment of hypovolaemia and dehydration in the tutorial entitled ‘Parenteral Fluid Therapy’. Hypovolaemia, Shock and Dehydration.
