Joseph M. DeFulio, LVT

Joseph is a Credentialed Veterinary Technician and is currently the Practice Manager of a 24-hour emergency and referral hospital in Cincinnati. He is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the hospital. Prior to this, he was the Practice Manager at an emergency and referral hospital in New Jersey.

Joe has his Class IV Therapeutic Laser Certification, and is certified by the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) in Animal Disaster Response. He is an active member of the Veterinary Emergency and Critical Care Society (VECCS), VECCS Practice Management Committee, International Veterinary Academy of Pain Management (IVAPM), Association for Veterinary Technician Educators (AVTE), New Jersey Veterinary Hospital Managers Association (NJVHMA), New Jersey Veterinary Technicians and Assistants (NJVTA), and National Association of Veterinary Technicians in America (NAVTA). He also serves on the Membership Committee for NAVTA and moderates the online practice management boards for VECCS.

Although Joe enjoys most aspects of veterinary medicine, he has a particular interest in emergency and critical care (ECC). Some of his favorite aspects of ECC are: cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), trauma, sepsis, toxicities, coagulation disorders, and transfusion medicine. From a management perspective, he enjoys team building and educating.

Joe has a Golden Retriever named, “Clover”. When not working or at school, Joe enjoys spending time with his family and friends, running, and going on vacation.
