Description

The majority of individuals with serious mental illness experience the first signs of illness during adolescence or early adulthood and there are often long delays between symptom onset and the receipt of evidence-based interventions. This CE course provides an overview of the evidence-based components of coordinated specialty care programs for the treatment of first episode psychosis (FEP).

Objectives

On completion of this course, the learner will be able to:
1. Enumerate the responsibilities of the client’s principal care manager.

2. Investigate what successful implementation of coordinated specialty care depends on most.

3. Examine important considerations in planning the transition from CSC (Coordinated Speciality Care).

4. Provide examples of common problems that cut across all service categories that CSC staff members must understand.
