Deaths from cardiovascular disease (CVD) have been declining, but changes in social factors like race, income, environment, and education could reverse that trend. To address this issue, the American Heart Association has released a scientific statement to guide physicians on the social determinants of risks and outcomes for CVD.

Objectives
