Description

This CEU course reviews the rights and responsibilities of the residents of nursing home facilities and gives specific examples for resident rights situations.

Objectives

On completion of this course, the learner will be able to:
1. Enumerate the services that the resident has a right to refuse.

2. Investigate the procedures that a resident’s right to privacy during medical treatments extends to.

3. Examine when medications may be mixed with liquids and/or food.

4. Identify when resident names can be used in an exit conference.

5. Describe for whom the licensure rule requiring reporting of abuse to the DHSR Health Care Personnel Registry Section pertains to.
