Description

Stroke is a leading cause of death and disability in the United States. On completion of this course, the learner will be able to:
1. Enumerate the risk factors for deep vein thrombosis.

2. Investigate the characteristics that are shown by patients with a high risk for aspiration.

3. Examine the treatment that should be used specifically for chronic stroke patients.

4. Elucidate the indicators that should be measured at three months following the acute stroke episode.

5. Identify how often food and fluid intake should be monitored in patients with swallowing problems and/or aspiration risk.
