Description

Quantum Units Education began in 2005 with a vision: to be a company with a conscience. Quantum Units Education is not your ordinary CE provider. What this means is simple: we strive to give back. We are grateful for the opportunity we have been given to help others. We want to pay it forward in caring for the environment and our community - which includes each and every customer that crosses our path. We are all in relationship with each other and with our planet. Let us think bigger, take action that creates lasting change, be innovative with our use of green technologies, engage with like-minded partners and move responsibly in our global community.

Objectives

On completion of this course, the learner will be able to:
1. Discuss the cause of schizophrenia and how treatments, especially pharmacological treatments, have had an impact on those living with the disease.

2. Examine the age that is most common for schizophrenia to present with symptoms and which symptoms are seen most often.

3. Explain which portion of the brain is affected by schizophrenia and how this introduces the cognitive symptoms of the disorder.

4. Investigate how those suffering from the disease have a history of delayed maturation and developmental milestones.

5. Elucidate the events during pregnancy that have been associated with subsequent increased risk for schizophrenia.

6. Identify the conditions that are epidemic among people with schizophrenia and how this plays into further negative health consequences.
