Description

Intravenous catheter associated bloodstream infections are the most serious risk today in conjunction with acute care treatment administration. Central line associated bloodstream infections CLABSIs are in the spotlight with incidence in the USA now linked to hospital reimbursement under the pay for performance initiatives. This course discusses clabsi's and their prevention.

Nancy Moureau received her training at East Carolina University in Greenville, NC and at MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, Texas. She received her Doctorate of Philosophy in Research at the School of Nursing Griffith Graduate Research School (GGRS) at Griffith University, Brisbane, Australia. Additional medical/clinical training includes two years at CETEC Universidad in the Dominican Republic as well as an externship in OB/GYN at Baptist Medical Center in Jacksonville, FL. Nancy received additional training at the Policlinico Gemelli Catholic University and Medical Center in Rome, Italy, at Royal Berkshire NHS Foundation Trust in Reading, England and Gartnaval Royal Hospital in Glasgow, Scotland. She holds the following certifications: Certified PICC Ultrasound Inserter (CPUI), intravenous specialist (CRNI) by the Intravenous Nurses Society (INS) and Vascular Access Board Certification (VA-BC) from the Association of Vascular Access (AVA).
