Description

This 3-hour lecture on the gross pathology of small ruminants covers many of the common (and not-so-common) diseases of the horse.

Objectives

Demonstration of gross morbid anatomy and the pathogenesis of a wide range of disease in the horse
By the end of this lecture, the viewer will gain an increased understanding of the gross lesions, as well as the presenting clinical signs, pathogenetic mechanisms and pathophysiology, as well as the appropriate differential diagnosis for a wide range of diseases affecting the horse.

Dr. Fabio Del Piero is a professor of Veterinary Pathology at the School of Veterinary Medicine, Louisiana State University. He has extensive experience in the pathology of domestic animals, particularly in the areas of horses, cattle, small ruminants, with a particular interest in equine infectious disease. He is the Foundation’s Senior Vice President, and has lectured around the world at many Foundation courses, including the Descriptive Veterinary Pathology course as well as our Gross Pathology Review Course.
