Description

Benjie has been lethargic and eating less and less over the last two weeks. The owners bring him to the hospital because he has not eaten in the last 2 days, but did notice an increase in his drinking habits. As the history and medical clues unfold, the author discusses a diagnosis and medical treatment plan that can be applied in any veterinary practice. As the student progresses through the course, questions will be asked that stimulate critical thinking. An explanation of the correct or incorrect answer choice is presented to lead the participant into a deeper understanding of Benjie's condition and treatment.

CSI: Benjie - Evaluating Weight Loss in a Cairn Terrier is a Case Study Investigation that leads the participant from Benjie's hospital admission to treatment, discharge and follow-up. The goal of this case study-based course is to bring awareness to the treatment for inappetance and thirst while discovering there can be more than one underlying ailment contributing to the medical condition.
