Description

Effective and targeted laboratory work-up is a vital part of diagnosis, case management and monitoring in all branches of small animal medicine and surgery. During this course, we will concentrate on the accurate interpretation of haematology and clinical chemistry data. We will use clinical cases to highlight common interpretation pitfalls that you are likely to encounter in practice, in this highly interactive day. At the end of the course, you'll have lots of useful information to use in your practice, and you'll be confident about when to use outside labs.

Objectives

On completion of this course the learner will be able to:
1. Explain how to pick the right diagnostic tests for your case.
2. Describe the interpretation of serum biochemistry profiles.
3. Define Haematology: polycythaemia, anaemia and changes in white blood cells.
4. Identify blood clotting and clinical case scenarios
