Description

This 3-hour lecture on the gross pathology of ruminants covers many of the common (and not-so-common) diseases of bovine species.

Objectives

Demonstration of gross morbid anatomy and the pathogenesis of a wide range of disease in the ox.
By the end of this lecture, the viewer will gain an increased understanding of the gross lesions, as well as the presenting clinical signs, pathogenetic mechanisms and pathophysiology, as well as the appropriate differential diagnosis for a wide range of diseases affecting the ox.

Dr. Claus Buergelt is an emeritus professor of veterinary pathology at the University of Florida with over 50 years of experience in the field. He is a charter member of the Foundation's Faculty of Discussants as well as the recipient of the Foundation's highest awards, the John M. King Award for Sustained Excellence in Veterinary Pathology as well as the Harold Casey Award for Teaching Excellence. He is the author of textbooks on equine pathology as well as alimentary and reproductive pathology.
