Description

This lecture covers the gross pathology of the systems of the cat, with reference to appropriate clinical, clinicopathologic, and histologic findings.

Objectives

Demonstration of gross pathologic lesions.
The diseases of the cardiovascular, hematopoietic, and gastrointestinal systems of the cat will be presented by images of the of gross pathologic changes. Appropriate anatomic and clinical pathologic features to aid in diagnosis, as well as differential diagnoses will be presented with each entity.
Demonstration of appropriate anatomic features relevant to clinical disease.
Appropriate anatomic and microanatomic features of the endocrine and integumentary systems of the dog will be discussed as they related to the entities featured in this lecture.
Summative self-assessment
The student will be challenged with a test at the end of the material to reinforce and measure the learning before issuing a certificate of completion. The student should review the training module and handouts if necessary before retaking the test.
